Part 1 / The Anonymous Comment From Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

What do you do when you receive this comment? What type of visitor is this?
.
"So you want comments? You need love? Just because you spend time pirating and stealing other people's work so others can also steal it? People simply comes here to steal. Period. You just make it easier to do it. You may want to feel loved, or fantasize about how people respect you or your taste, or that somehow you own the music you're ripping, but you're deluding yourself. You are just a pawn so hundreds of people steal copyrighted material in the name of "sharing culture" or some bullshit like that. And then, of course, you want to be flattered. And admired. Well, wake up and smell the coffee. Nobody respects you or likes you. You're a parasite used by other parasites. If people couldn't steal records for free in your blog nobody would visit it. Get a dog, or better, stop stealing and try to do something to contribute to save the music you profess to love. And stop whining if nobody leaves comments. You want a comment? Thanks, asshole, thanks for stealing the music so all thieves can profit from it. That's the only real comment." from Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain (*)

He wrote the message anonymous but the IP (*) has been registered. Anyway. Sad. Very sad.

Forget it... there are poor people around who can only think in terms of ACTA. It's their life - empty...
Others think in terms of music - and we thank you for your work and for sharing...

The world is changing and that comment is just the decadent scream of monolithic capitalism!!! They don't see it!!!

How do you call it, when extremely rich people take without a hearty the life of poor people or just others? isn't it stealing as well?

Don't call it Piracy... just call it sharing!!!

Best regards from me!!!

I am a thieving parasite too and a grateful one...thank you for letting me suck the marrow out of the bones of all these Great Artists!

Dear Fly

Do not be affected by these insults. Your blogs are beautiful and useful, far away from the image that wants to give this sad man. Continue, continue to fly on the wings of music.
Thanks for all.

I quote Francesco Natali: "My house is full of ORIGINALS lps and cds!" And I add that, since i visit blogs like your, I have discovered new composers and bought their rarities.

My apologies if the humorous spirit of mockery intended with this comment missed the mark!
I truly am grateful for your uploads.

In my opinion, although the material on this blog is copyrighted, I wouldn't define it as "piracy" or "stealing".
You do not profit from selling what you upload...and besides which - these artists make their living teaching and concertizing for the most part.

Best wishes and I look forward to your next posting!

Who's profiting from Mozart’s music that died without a penny...
Who's profiting from Van Gogh's paintings, a guy who died without a penny...

Many geniuses passed away without profiting from their masterpieces so... who's really stealing?

Thanks for your support and comments. Good to see you comment CDs posted here. Compliments to the blog are always nice but not what interests me most. I liked that visitors comment on the CDs published and indicate alternatives. That would be important to everyone.

The fact is that through the internet radio etc we get flooded with music. We don't have to buy it anymore. I have about 600 CDs and 200 LPs from the past. I do not have physical space anymore to store more of it. So if I can download some MP3s I like to listen and I take myself the pain to get it into my audio system, then I will do it as long as it is not illegal. I do not intend to buy more CDs even if the free download possibilities are gone.

I believe the joy of classical music should be made available to all. I am a big fan of classical music, especially piano music because I play piano myself. I will support any blogspot that promote classical piano music.

I am a new comer to your blog and find your blogspot fantastic. I am saddened by the way you feel. Please don't give up. Thank you very much for your effort. Your blog is the best !

Yes, I am the villain. And yes, you purchased all those CDs legally but now, by uploading them and allowing and all these sycophant freeloaders download them you are hurting the artists that recorded them and the industry that made possible for them to exist in the first place. I'm sorry if you felt insulted. I recognize my tone was uncalled for, but I am a musician who has lost his livelihood because of practices like this. And do not blame the IP address, because this is just a music school and I know for a fact many of the students download music from you site. I just teach now, and I am sorry to see the hypocrisy in all these posts claiming they love music. They just want free content and tell themselves they're great and some kind of robin hood against the "corporate evil". People like you, who devote so much time to upload and share your magnificent collection, believe they're doing good, but you are not. I know nobody wants to believe this when they can have music for free and steal, yes steal, other's people work and investments. The day somebody breaks into their bank accounts and cleans them in the name of free circulation of capitals and if they complain tells them they capitalist pigs, they'll start to get a shot of their own medicine. Yes, I am sad.Yes, I am bitter. Many artists like myself have had to abandon their profession. I am lucky to have a job teaching piano to students, but many like me won't ever be professional musicians again. And nobody cares. They only care about getting the stuff for free and even then insist in self-righteously present themselves as heroes. Sad indeed. Have a good day and enjoy your collection. If these piracy practices had been going on before you acquired it, there would be no collection at all. I won't bother you anymore.

Intriguing. What are you doing on blogs like this?

I spent too much money on music. The CDs are mine! I paid them! I do what I please with them.

End to this conversation.

Tonis said...

I spent a lot of money in CDs to find out that they are shit copies of the original masters. What is very sad is how the excessive greed in the recording business almost ruin the creativity in music. Be creative and the work never will stop in your job.

I'm from València, Catalan Countries (occupied by Spain).

I cannot see the relationship between his/her failure as a concert artist and your postings. This person hasn't explained it at all (why?), but in any case he/she seems indeed very frustrated and angry. A bad day, perhaps...

I think that a musician should *play concerts* to earn his own money. In other words: discography, in the internet era, can only work as a promotional tool for the artists which, by the way, can find better ways of accomplishing this than signing a draconian contract with a monster-discographical company.

Take it or leave it, angry boy!

For Fly: congratulations!!!

Regards to everybody from a musician!

P.D.: all the stuff about the allegedly response to the practices of capitalism is sooooo funny! Because he put it in the future tense, while this has been the real thing for ages (I was going to write "forever"...). As we say in catalan: boy, we do not suck our thumb.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for sharing your fantastic collections!. Greetings from Barcelona. Surely this guy is not catalan ;)

That isn't a guest. It is a media corporate bot. Like those idiots who fill the eMule network with fake files / viruses to cheat sharers. You are NOT a "thief". MEDIA CORPORATIONS ARE THIEVES. Big media business is CRIMINAL. Corporate world is MAFIA and copyright laws are illegal, inhuman and MAFIA. So please don't pay any heed to that crap and keep the great job going. Thank you for posting all that wonderful music.

There is a saying in the blogosphere... "Don't feed the trolls" which means, don't let jerks like this get you down, and DON'T give them the satisfaction of your attention, it will just encourage him to feel like he "is someone". There's all kinds of mental states out there, and they needn't be your problem... ignore him and eventually, when he's not getting the attention he craves, he will slink away to go piss on someone else's party. Obviously he's not trying to engage in any kind of intelligent discussion, so don't "throw your pearls before swine". Keep up the good work sharing beautiful music!

Bon dia! I just discovered this blog today. I would just like to say muito obrigado for sharing your collection of good music recordings. I also download music from blogs to enjoy them myself but not to reshare them. I also have a sizeable collection of CDs which I bought abroad (buying classical CDs here is really difficult) but your collection is simply amazing. For example, I have never heard of Evgeni Koriolov before but thank you for introducing him to us.
